To give some expert advise on setting your Thanksgiving table to really WOW your guests, we asked our Client Care Coordinator, Emily Miller to give some of her tips and tricks:
Hi everyone! It is that time of year again… and whether or not you are ready, Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. I am one of *those* people who find joy in hosting – from the prepping and cooking to hand cutting place cards and adding the final touches to a table, every single moment makes me giddy.
I am a firm believer that mixing, matching, and keeping it simple is the best way to set the table. There is no need to go out and spend a small fortune to set the table, especially if you are already footing the bill for the food, drinks, etc. It’s important to collect things that you currently have at your home and “make it work” as Tim Gunn would say.
And let me alleviate your mind and take a minute to talk about the spiraling black hole of pinterest. We live in a world where we compare ourselves to everyone on the internet and some how, some way, they always have the cutest, most trendy things that you don’t have. Just so we are all on the same page: no furnishings, blankets, dishes, children, 28 hours in a day or artsy skills is going to make a house a home… the PEOPLE are the key to making a house a home. So please, as you read the carefully refined tips and tricks below, keep in mind that even if your table is brought to you by Dixie and your order Chinese takeout for your meal… there is still SO much to be thankful for.
I have specially designed four thankful cards to help get the conversation rolling around the feasting table. Trying to give you options to match your decor and style, you’ll be well on your way to making this the best, most memorable Thanksgiving yet!
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! Here at Catalyst Home Team, we are so very thankful for you!
