November is here and it is the perfect time of year to grab your pup (aka your favorite family member) and get outdoors. We love Atlanta and all it has to offer, including its various pet-friendly walking trails and dog parks!
Atlantic Station Dog Park
This small fenced park is probably a better fit for smaller dogs as there is not much room for larger dogs to really run. Benches and grassy area available but just be aware that there are no restrooms for humans. The plus side is, it is easily walkable to restaurants and eateries.

Brook Run Dog Park
This 4-acre dog park is separated into two areas – one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. Both are completely fenced in for your dog’s safety. It is fully wooded with plenty of seating, water and poop stations. Bring the entire family to enjoy multiple covered playgrounds, covered picnic tables and trails for walking. It’s one of our family’s favorite parks Atlanta has to offer.

Canine Crossing Dog Park
This 5+ acre park has tons of room for dogs of all sizes to get out and play. Two fenced areas for smaller and larger pooches, this park is packed with pet friendly amenities such as concrete tunnels, fire hydrants and water fountains for dogs. Their people will love the two covered pavilions, a walking area, benches, covered swings and restrooms.

Chattapoochee Dog Park
Aside from the super cute name, this park sports large fenced fields for running and playing. There are designated areas for large and small dogs, fountains, agility equipment and shaded areas. Visitors consistently rate this park with high marks.

Decatur Dog Parks
Technically three dog parks for Decatur residents only, these parks provide plenty of fully fenced space for dogs to run and play off leash, and socialize with other well behaved dogs. Oakhurst is nearly 2 acres and features a water fountain, poop bags, and shaded picnic tables. Adair is large and fully fenced, has benches and plenty of shade, but bring your own water. Glenlake has benches, mulch ground cover, shade and drinking water, and is fully fenced. Be advised that there is no separate small dog area. Visit the website for park rules.

Freedom Barkway Dog Park
Located in the heart of the Old Fourth Ward, an underutilized 2-acre parcel is undergoing big changes into a park for canine friends. Sections for big and little dogs, benches, water stations and much more in the works. Check their website for lots of great activities and FUNdraisers.

Newtown Dream Dog Park
When they named this Newtown Dream Dog Park, they weren’t kidding! This park is one of the top in the nation and we can see why. Giant bones crown this one-acre park, footed with artificial turf. There are obstacles and sprinklers to play in and on, water fountains for people and pets, areas for big and little dogs, shade areas, plenty of benches and lots of room to run and play. Hang up the dog leash and let Fido free. Your dog won’t doubt that he’s your best friend.

ParkGrounds
ParkGrounds is a popular dog park choice because the off leash park is attached to a cafe, that serves wine and beer, making it a great place to relax and unwind for both dog and owner. The park area is fully fenced with water and plenty of shade to keep busy dogs cool. Owners love the WiFi to check their email, coffee, food, beer, wine and booze slushies. This park is for patrons of ParkGrounds.

Piedmont Dog Park
Large 3-acre park with plenty of room to run. Sections for large and small dogs. Benches and restrooms (yay), water spigots and shaded areas. Concessions on weekends include King of Pops, with popsicles for dogs.

Rabbit Hill Dog Park
Lots of trees, shade, both grass and rough space, along with some sand and fun obstacles. Separate areas of the park – large and small dog areas – as well as another area for just running, make play time flexible. Sitting space for owners too – in and out of the shade. Water faucets, poop station and restrooms for humans too.

Railside Dog Park
The 2-acre parcel to build this downtown, off leash park was donated by a local landowner. The fenced area now houses two areas for large and small dogs, nice granite benches, water bowls (bring your own water), trash and bag dispensers. The downside is that there is not much shade, but the upside is that this park is super conveniently located to several eateries and bars.

South Bend Dog Park
Plenty of room to romp, shady trees and natural rock formations for dogs to climb, this dog park also has separate areas for big dogs and smaller dogs. Tree swing to relax on, water fountain for dogs and people, kiddie pool for pups to play in, benches and poop bags.

Woofstock Dog Park
This 5.5-acre park has plenty of amenities, including water fountains, shade, benches, and separate areas for large and small dogs. Restrooms are available and it is at trailhead for Noonday Creek and Town to Creek trails, allowing hot dogs to escape and play in the creek with their owners.
